6 Cancer Symptoms
This animation was first developed to reach MD Anderson’s social media audience. For each symptom of cancer, I created custom illustrations when stock imagery could not accurately convey the concepts around each symptom of possible cancer. I called the little paper doll in a style that would make her universal and ageless. The animation received an honorable mention in Ragan Communications and PR Daily who said, “A compelling video can captivate online audiences in a way that words cannot. Video is an essential piece of any successful communications strategy, and the finalists for PR Daily’s 2019 Video & Visual Awards showed they know how to engage busy audiences. Congratulations to this year’s impressive list of finalists.”
When MD Anderson needed a vessel to communicate COVID prevention and precautions, Lola’s character and illustration style lent themselves easily to telling another story. A third set of still illustrations was also created and used in a presentation deck used in community outreach, educating the greater Houston area about cancer prevention through health guidelines. Below is a collection of the many illustrations I created for the projects, which were inspired by Lola’s first video.
