Learning food portions
“Want to eat healthy” was the first of four videos developed for MD Anderson’s Community Research and Education. I supported the department and hospital in developing videos to educate the community about health and cancer prevention. My involvement was extensive and comprehensive.
The video producer and I worked together with Dr. Karen Basen-Engquist’s team, Behavioral Sciences and Video Services, to create a story for the diabetes weight loss curriculum using data along with design and video. With assistance from a dietitian, I created 14 meal illustrations that accurately captured 7 side-by-side caloric comparisons. Initially, I assisted by creating style frames, but eventually, I handled the art direction of the video, animation, design, and food illustrations.

Tips for managing stress
The second of six videos developed for MD Anderson’s Community Research and Education. In this video, I helped develop the script and art direction so that the video would be visually connected to the “Want to eat healthy” video. Brand guidelines for MD Anderson were also followed closely while considering the audience. It had to be fun and relatable.
My process for this video followed the same workflow as the first video in the series. Motion-tracking and compositing of graphics with video were an exciting challenge to tackle. Like in the “Want to eat healthy” video, I created all of the illustrations and graphics using Adobe Illustrator. Below is the layout of storyboards. My hand sketches made for easier planning for the video shoot.
