What is immunotherapy
The core problem that What is Immunotherapy? addressed was how best to clearly explain this game-changing cancer treatment — pioneered at MD Anderson by 2018 Nobel Prize Laureate, Dr. James Allison — to a broad, lay audience via social media. With immunotherapy being a complex new cancer treatment method, few educational materials exist that have presented the importance of this therapy in a comprehendable way.
The animation successfully met and exceeded its objectives. Originally intended as a regularly scheduled MD Anderson social media post in January 2018 reaching its intended average-sized audience, the animation served a broader purpose by presenting Dr. Allison’s innovative research that earned him the Nobel Prize in October 2018. Since then it has had 400,000 more views. The animation has also been included in promotional videos featuring Dr. Allison. Most recently, the American Cancer Society requested MD Anderson’s permission to use the animation for their own presentations on immunotherapy and Dr. Allison.
To date, the animation’s metrics are proof of every goal achieved. Below, see the full storyboards built to create the animated sequence.
